Kenya Post Harvest Loss

Problem Statement
Post-harvest losses in Kenya remain a major agricultural and income challenge, with a significant share of fresh produce lost between harvest and market due to poor handling, limited cold storage, weak rural transport/logistics, and fragmented market access. As a result, smallholder farmers face lower incomes, higher waste, and reduced ability to reliably supply urban buyers.
Target Outcome
Within the project area, significantly reduce post-harvest losses of fresh produce, increase the share of harvested produce sold to market, and improve smallholder farmer income through affordable cold-chain access, better logistics coordination, and stronger market connections.
